Will Douglass dominates at Horses-In-Training Sale

Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training sale saw Will Douglass purchase 27 horses in training. Of these, 24 will be heading to Qatar and the remaining three will stay in training in the UK with Charlie Fellowes.
This year saw a considerable increase in numbers purchased from previous years with 13 purchased in 2020 & 15 purchased in 2019. Purchase prices ranged from 3,000 gns to 190,000 gns with a total spend of 1,082,500 gns.

Smart filly KERINDIA wins in fine style under Faleh Bughenaim. Another excellent victory in Qatar for the lovely daughter of Cotai Glory, purchased by Will Douglass at Tattersalls December Mare Sale, as a horse in training, for owner Injaaz Stud. An impressive training performance by Zuhair Mohsin. Congratulations to all connections.

ODDYSSEY (Ulysses/Last Echo) , a horse in training purchase, leads home a great 1, 2 victory in the Group 2 Al Rayyan Mile partnered by Maxime Guyon. A third consecutive win for the Jassim Al Ghazali-trained colt purchased as a two-year-old by Will Douglass at Tattersalls Autumn Sale. Congratulations to owner Al Shaqab Racing.

Scherzo (Wootton Bassett/ Persian Belle) landed an impressive victory in Qatar over the weekend to win the HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani Trophy. The 3-y-o colt was purchased by Gordon-Watson Bloodstock for €420,000 at the Arqana Arc Horses-In-Training sale for owners Alwasmiyah Stud. Many congratulations to owners Alwasmiyah Stud, trainer Georges Mikhalides and jockey Alberto Sanna.
CEPAHLUS (Cable Bay/Angels Wings) landed the four-timer at Newcastle with another impressive win. A great training performance by Charlie Hills and the team for owners Jerry Hinds and Philip Herbert. The son of Cable Bay was purchased from Highclere Stud by Gordon-Watson Bloodstock at Tattersalls Book 2 for only 11,000 gns. An exciting horse to follow this year!

It has been a very successful week in Doha with four winners, all purchased by Will Douglass at the Tattersalls Horses-In-Training Sale. Keel Bay (Starspangledbanner/Slieve), Swift One (No Nay Never/Flavia Tatiana), Wishaah (Oasis Dream/Mia Diletta) and Semper Augustus (Dutch Art/Pink Flames) were all victorious over the weekend. TURIN REDSTAR, by Kyllachy out of a Diktat mare wins at Sha Tin. Bought by Gordon-Watson Bloodstock for 35,000 gns at Tattersalls Book 2. The eight-year-old has career earnings over £900,000.
